Within the scope of our new Erasmus+ project "Art for Inclusion" 4 students from our school went to Alatri, Italy together with their teachers Mrs Cin and Mrs Ferdinand-Ude for one week.

Sueda Nur Topaloglu (9a), Lilith Schulte (9b), Kira Schwabe (9c) and Thao-Nhi Pham (11b) stayed there at their Italian host-sisters' home. During the day, at school they made a research on the role of different kinds of art on various disabled people, took part at the seminars about the history of Alatri and the concentration camps during the Second World War. Besides, they learned how to use the E-Twinning Programm of the European Commission at the Language laboratory of the school, registered on this portal and and started to work there.

After the school students visited some neighbouring cities of Alatri, such as Rom together with 40 other students and teachers from our partner countries Spain, Italy, Portugal, Holland and Turkey, and improved their knowledge on the history and culture of Italy.

"Im Rahmen von unserem neuen Erasmus+-Projektes "Art for inclusion's sake" waren in der vergangenen Woche vier Schülerinnen der GSG in Begleitung von Frau Cin und Frau Ferdinand-Ude in Alatri, Italien.

Sueda Nur Topaloglu (9a), Lilith Schulte (9b), Kira Schwabe (9c) und Thao-Nhi Pham (11b) sind in Italien bei ihren italienischen Gastschülern geblieben. Tagsüber haben sie an der Schule die Rolle verschiedener Arten von Kunst über die Integration unterschiedlich behinderter Menschen recherchiert, an den Seminaren über die Geschichte Italiens, u.a. über die Konzentrationslager in Alatri während des 2. Weltkriegs teilgenommen, sich mit dem E-Twinning-Programm der Europäischen Kommission befasst und auf diesem Portal angemeldet und haben angefangen mit diesem Programm zu arbeiten.

Nach der Schule haben die Schüler zusammen mit den 40 anderen SchülerInnen und LehrerInen aus unseren 5 Partnerländern Spanien, Italien, Holland, Portugal und der Türkei die Nachbarstädte von Alatri wie Rom besucht und die Kultur und Geschichte Italiens tiefer entdeckt."

	Sandra Horn Hi there, I am a Sports and Music teacher and the Geschwister-Scholl Comprehensive School. I love playing tennis, making music and playing the trumpet on different occasions such as on Christmass concerts. Being among people from different cultures and learning from them makes me a lot of fun, therefore I support the Erasmus+ project with all my abilities in the areas such as dancing, singing, playing a music instrument and doing sports. I have composed our official Erasmus+ song for our last project and hope to do the same for this project together with all our students of as well.
	Jasmin Janning Hello there, my name is Jasmin Janning and I`m teaching the subjects Geography and German at the Geschwister-Scholl Comprehensive School in Lünen. I like doing sports, meeting my family and friends and travelling around the world. During my studies I participated at an exchange and teached German at a school in Lettland. This experience showed me how much I love to get to know other cultures and to work with pupils from different countries. I`m very happy to be a part of Erasmus+ because it is a big chance to learn more about the different lifestyles and traditions in Europe. Kind regards
	Susan Abonyo Stiller My name is Susan-Abonyo Stiller. I was born in Kenya. I migrated to Germany in 2009 because of my love of the German language and the love of learning new culture and traditions. At the moment I am a teacher in a very beautiful German School called “Geschwister-Scholl-Gesamtschule” in a small town called Lünen in Germany. My School takes part in the Erasmus+ program and I am privileged to be one of the teachers helping in the Project. I also teach Mathematic and Chemistry in our beautiful school. I will be happy to host some of you here in Germany.
	Lea Thiemann Hello all, my name is Lea Thiemann. I am a teacher from Germany at the Geschwister-Scholl cromprehensive school and teach English and Protestant Religion in grade 5 to 13. Susan, Jasmin and I started working with the Erasmus group this summer and we will organize the mobilities for the German team. I enjoy traveling and acting as well as watching theatre. Since my childhood I have visited multiple countries and went to school in the US. Those intercultural experiences have shaped my perception of the world and the people around me. I enjoy being around a divers group of people and interacting with people from different countries and cultures. I believe an exchange across borders encourages students and teachers to actively live and create a divers and open Europe. I want to support the Erasmus+ team with my skills in English and theatre experience.

Essay Competition

Dear Students,

We - the Erasmus+ club- are organizing an essay competition for the years 11 to 13.

Write an essay about “What does happiness mean for me? How does a happy moment look like?”

Length: 1-2 Pages
Due date: Monday, 28th May 2021

The prize for the winner is:

1^st place: 50 Euros + a present

2^nd place: 30 Euros + a present

3^rd place: 20 Euros + a present

You can give your esays to Ms Cin, Ms Laukmann, Mr Sobottka and Ms Stiller or school secretaries. We wish you a lot of happy moments while writing the essay.

2. Erasmus+ Mobility in Bragança (Portugal)

As part of our new Erasmus + project "Art for inclusion's sake", four students from our school went to Bragança, Portugal for one week, accompanied by the teachers Mrs. Berg and Mrs. Horn. Pia Thomschke (9a), Viktoria Miller (9a), Aurora Witt (9c) and Klara Dudziak (9a) stayed there with their Portuguese guest students.

The focus of this trip to Portugal was the experience of being able to handle seemingly insurmountable tasks in a team, regardless of different nationalities and languages.

Besides getting to know and exchanging local dishes, clothes and dances, the students also worked on a song based on the project theme for a song contest. This song will be sung together at future mobilities. It is the musical logo of our project.

During this week, cultural activities were also on the agenda for all students, such as a city rally in Bragança, a guided tour through Porto and visits to various museums.

“Erasmus Days“

On the 11th October we organised two stands where we exhibited pictures and project results from our last project "past, present, future" and informed students about our new project. Besides a lot of students from our school took part at our questionnaire about our both projects and won prices like Erasmus+ armbands, glasses and notebooks... It was a very exciting experience for us and for us Erasmus+ students and for other students as well.
